TOP 10 TRENDS OF NEW YORK FASHION WEEK SPRING/SUMMER 2018

TAILORING

This trend has been taken over the daily women’s wear, either for elegant-working days and casual sportive looks. It’s all about mixing different cuts and be daring with the prints and colors.

PASTELS

Spring/Summer will bring the ice cream colors palette of shades between lilac, light blue, pink and yellow to the scene, in every piece: shoes, trousers, blazers, dresses…

TRANSPARENCY

Transparency touches are still shown in almost all the collections in NYFW. This time shown not only on blouses and dresses but also in skirts, shoes and bags.

FANNY PACK

Designers are bringing back the fanny pack, icon bag of the 1980’s, making them more stylish than ever. After the Gucci wrist pack causing sensation it seems the luxury world is trying to propose a cool yet elegant ways of rocking your fanny pack with any clothes. I’m obsessed with the Zimmerman showcase and how they match the fanny pack with girly suited two pieces and dresses.

PRINTS AND MORE PRINTS

Mixing fun and colorful prints is never “too much”, specially this NYFW the designers went over the top with this game and the result was “a-mazing”, what do you think?

FEATHERS AND FRINGES

I like that the feathers and fringes bring an ethnic vibe to the pieces but can also make them more classy and special.

TULLE

As Maria Grazia did with Dior, bringing the tulle in the fashion game, in NYFW the fabric was present in a lot of collections added to not only dresses but skirts, necklines and skirts. For me wearing tulle gives you a feminine touch but with a kind of rebellious expression of the passionate classical ballerina dancer inspo and the punk tulle style.

COLOR TIP SHOES

As for the footwear, many designers chose to give a touch of color to the tip of the shoes, whether it was on stilettos or boots.

TIE DYED

This hippie style trend makes me think of casual brands like Roxy or Billabong, but this time top designers brought tie dyed dresses and shorts with a turn over that got me looking at them not only as a beach/bohemian style but as a night style option too.

CROSS FRONT WRAP TOPS

If you are a fan of crop tops, the cross front wrap is still on either for bohemian-day looks and for more glittery-night out occasions.
